Abstract

Health and quality of life are profoundly impacted by teething, and tooth loss, known as edentulism, presents functional, psychosocial and aesthetic challenges to the patient. Rehabilitation with implant prostheses is a viable option, but may face mechanical complications, such as loosening of accessories, fracture of abutments and loss of retention of prosthetic components. Early identification of these complications is essential for reestablishing the prosthesis, therefore a proactive approach, based on planning and understanding the mechanical and occlusal factors at play, is essential for preventing or resolving these challenges. A detailed understanding of these aspects not only facilitates the prevention of challenges, but also guides effective interventions to ensure the long-term success of implant prosthetic rehabilitation. The integrated approach, considering both technical and clinical perspectives, is essential to optimize results and patient satisfaction.
