Abstract

Due to the high demand for aesthetic restorations, manufacturers have sought to improve their properties, especially optical properties with the purpose of maintaining the color of composites. Food and beverages have the potential to cause color changes in these materials, which, over time, may cause the patient to dislike them. The present article gathered researches related to the subject with several foods and beverages consumed in the daily life, such as coffee, tea, Coca-Cola®, wine, among others, with several types of composites and commercial brands, besides the evaluation about polishing and preheating of composite resins in the reduction of this color change.
