Ceramic laminates represent durable restorations. However, their longevity is influenced by a variety of factors, including the type of adhesive used, the presence of composite resin in the tooth structure, the cementation technique used, the photopolymerization method and specific characteristics of the patient. Strategies such as immediate dentin sealing have been shown to be effective in improving adhesion, reducing failures, postoperative sensitivity and preventing detachment of restorations. The careful selection of materials, adhesive systems and types of cement (self-etching or conventional) is essential to guarantee the longevity of the restoration. Furthermore, individual aspects of the patient, such as oral hygiene habits and bruxism, play a crucial role in this process. Therefore, promoting open communication between patient and dentist, along with regular visits for evaluation and post-treatment maintenance, is essential to ensure satisfactory and long-lasting clinical results.
