Abstract

Impacted permanent canines are considered the second most common, creating aesthetic and functional problems of great relevance. Different treatment mechanisms are cited in the literature, ranging from the extraction of these impacted teeth to surgical exposure followed by orthodontic traction, involving multidisciplinary treatment. The objective of this article is to report a clinical case of impaction of two canines, one upper and the other lower, with greater emphasis on orthodontic treatment, thus showing the feasibility of carrying out such procedures. An 18-year-old patient sought care to correct his bite and was diagnosed with canine impaction, undergoing orthosurgical treatment using the double arch technique. Therefore, through a correct diagnosis we can treat and restore aesthetic and chewing improvements to the patient.
