The purpose of this article is to find data regarding tooth movement of teeth with chronic periapical changes and which have already undergone endodontic treatment. In view of the literature review, it was found that orthodontic movement does not seem to influence the process of apical periodontal repair of teeth with chronic injury, but that it is important to wait a certain period of time after endodontic treatment before starting tooth movement. There were controversies as to the exact time to be expected, ranging from 1 week to 6 months, and it was also not defined which type of orthodontic movement would be the most appropriate for these cases. In addition, in most of the results of the data obtained in the articles, a relatively lower degree of resorption was reported in teeth that were treated endodontically compared to teeth with pulpal vitality, but there is no statistically significant number, showing the need for further studies with a more specific and similar methodology.
