In the field of Implant Dentistry, there are different techniques aimed at making the implants viable and fixing in the patient, such as lifting the maxillary sinus, performed through grafting and using different techniques. Thus, the present study aims to analyze the lifting of the maxillary sinus as a method of viability of implants. As a method, bibliographic research is adopted through a review of a sample of 13 (thirteen) scientific articles published between the years 2017 to 2022 in databases such as SciELO, CAPES, LILACS and PubMed. The results show that the maxillary sinus lift is an instrument for implant viability, recommended in cases where it is impossible to perform the implant directly. Regarding the technique used, although the lateral window is the most common, the choice will depend on the analysis of the patient's individual conditions, especially the existing residual bone height.
