Socket shield: another clinical option for preserving the anatomical structure of the socket

This present bibliography review has as its main objective, to describe another technique to preserve and protect the bone structure that will be the bed for the installation of a dental implant. This new technique consists of maintaining a part of the root structure, usually the buccal portion, healthy, aiming to maintain the local bone architecture, as well as preserving its volume, maintaining the characteristics of the red esthetic very similar, if not the same, to the beginning of the dental implant treatment.
