Abstract

The increase in media influence, the standardization of beauty models and the search for self-esteem improvement, provided a greater demand from patients for aesthetic procedures. The lip lift arises in this context, and consists of reducing the distance between the base of the wing of the nose and the upper concavity of the lower lip. It may have both aesthetic and therapeutic indications, in cases where this skin increases in the lower third of the face is much higher than the other thirds, older patients or where there is no appearance of teeth and upper lips that are not very evident. The procedure itself does not leave an unsightly scar as a consequence, as it is done in good contact with the lower edge of the nose, which promotes an excellent prognosis. The objective of this study was to present a clinical case on the decrease in the distance of the lower middle third of the patient's face and consequently a greater appearance of the upper teeth during the smile, using the lip lift technique.
