Deep bite, also known as overbite, is a type of dental malocclusion in which the upper teeth completely cover the lower teeth, that is, when there is a vertical overlap, generally greater than 2 mm, between the two arches in the occlusion position. This condition is visible in the anterior region and can change people's profile. It requires a differential diagnosis and specific planning. This malocclusion is easily found in both adult patients and children. The etiological factors may be skeletal, dental or both associated. Conventional mechanics for overbite correction, although more viable for the patient, are very complex and have major side effects, including unsatisfactory anchorage. In this case, mini-implants have shown great effectiveness in the treatment, mainly because they offer satisfactory skeletal anchorage and make the intrusion of these elements a simpler procedure, from a mechanical point of view. The objective of this article is to describe how to correct a deep bite, through the use of mini dental implants as anchorage in the upper and lower anterior intrusive movement. It was concluded that mini dental implants, when well used and indicated, present satisfactory results for the correction of deep bites.
