To carry out a literature review with a view to addressing interceptive Orthodontics in anterior crossbite, especially through the progenic device and its mechanisms. The chosen design was a narrative literature review. The search for articles was carried out digitally, in the Virtual Health Library, Scientific Electronic Library Online and Google Scholar databases, using the following descriptors: crossbite, progenic arch and interceptive orthodontics. Duplicate articles were excluded. Through interceptive orthodontics it is possible to reduce or eliminate the damage caused by abnormal growth of the bone and alveolar bases, favoring the normal development of the dentition, especially in the anterior segment of the dental arch and preventing the emergence of harmful habits. According to the literature review, the use of modified progeny appliance is an efficient, simple and quick option for the treatment of anterior crossbite.
