The skeletal open bite is defined by a negative overjet malocclusion between the anterior teeth. It has hereditary origins or from functional habits, such as finger sucking, abnormal tongue size, mouth breathing and congenital or acquired pathologies. The diagnosis can be obtained through clinical examination, teleradiography and cephalometry. With the evolution of the use of mini-implants, new methods have emerged capable of performing the intrusion of posterior teeth in cases of skeletal open bite, and, consequently, obtaining satisfactory occlusion of anterior teeth. The objective of this work is to report a clinical case of anterior open bite closure using mini-implants for intrusion of posterior teeth, based on a literature review.
