Abstract

Tooth loss due to oral pathology or trauma is relatively common in our society. Restoring missing teeth in the aesthetic zone is a major challenge for the restorative dentist. During case planning, several factors must be considered to maximize the aesthetic result. To replace these lost teeth, fixed and removable dental prostheses are used, with the trend being the placement of dental implants. At this point, we can highlight the gingival tissue surrounding the junction of the prosthesis with the abutment, called the emergence profile, as it is vitally important for the aesthetics of the prosthesis and the protection of the dental implant. Temporary restorations are of paramount importance to maximize aesthetics in the anterior region of the maxilla. Temporary restorations on implants personalize soft tissue healing, being an easy and predictable way to achieve a smooth, natural, and aesthetic tissue form.
