Applicability of hyaluronic acid and PRF in the ATM region

Temporomandibular disorders have considerably affected the quality of life of society in recent years, however with the advancement of medicine it is possible to associate non-resistant methods and techniques in the control of pain and discomfort in the region of the temporomandibular joint, improving health and social well-being. The aim of the present study was to perform a literature review in the last five years on the use of hyaluronic acid and platelet aggregates PRF (platelet rich fibrin) for viscosupplementation of the temporomandibular joint and orofacial pain. The studies in this review prove a degree of effectiveness of the applicability of hyaluronic acid and PRF in the treatment of temporomandibular disorders.
