The extraction of a tooth triggers a series of events that directly affect periodontal tissues. When this extraction takes place in the anterior region of the maxilla, a region of noble aesthetics, the events that follow bring serious damage to the rehabilitative treatment, and concomitantly the patient's self-esteem. Immediate implants in the aesthetic area, together with immediate temporary rehabilitations, are a rehabilitative option that manages to obtain highly satisfactory results in terms of aesthetics and self-esteem, as well as maintenance of adjacent periodontal tissues. This work aims to carry out a literature review on immediate implants in the esthetic area.
