Abstract

This study aims to report a clinical case in which the patient underwent orthodontic treatment associated with surgery for access and traction of the impacted mandibulary canine. For planning the case, anamnesis, clinical and radiographic exams were performed, which allowed to access the positioning of the impacted tooth, a determining factor for the success of the traction. In the surgical procedure, extraction of the deciduous tooth and access to the impacted tooth was performed, at the same time favoring the location of the retained tooth. Both the chosen surgical technique and the selected orthodontic mechanics favored the success of the traction and the orthodontic treatment completed with stability and success of proposal orthodontic treatment.
