Abstract

Guided bone regeneration techniques are commonly associated with the installation of dental implants. To exclude competition from unwanted tissues in this area, the application of a membrane is a key principle for a successful guided bone regeneration. The membranes introduced in the market have numerous properties that are subject to modifications. This raises the need to study and evaluate possible biological outcomes, as well as the mechanisms involved in associating membranes with defects that will be regenerated with bone grafts.
