As skin ages, skin elasticity increases significantly, and excess facial sagging and sagging is seen as a major aesthetic concern. Thus, the societal need to achieve desirable and acceptable aesthetic results with fast recovery and low risk eventually led to the expansion of the field of minimally invasive procedures and techniques. This need triggers particular interest in microfocused ultrasound as part of a plan to improve skin tone and even lift the facial structure. Given this hypothesis, the main objective of this article is to review the scientific literature on the use of microfocused ultrasound in facial rejuvenation and correction of skin flaccidity in this area. It can be concluded, for example, that the results achieved by the microfocused ultrasound are similar to those of cosmetic surgery, however with some advantages that help in adherence to the technique: quick results, less downtime and recovery time and fewer adverse effects.
