Bell's palsy or peripheral facial paralysis is one of the most common pathologies that affect the face, bringing asymmetry and disharmony to it. This is due to an alteration caused in the facial nerve (seventh pair of the cranial nerve) that controls the sensitive and mainly mechanical part. This paralysis brings not only aesthetic consequences, but also functional, psychological and low quality of life. To improve the condition, alternative therapeutic treatment consists of the use of botulinum toxin type A, a less invasive, temporary and effective intervention. There is an improvement in the quality of life in general, dealing with various aspects such as: better acceptance of the individual with himself, reflected in social relationships; improvement of phonation and swallowing; besides making the face more symmetrical.
