Angle Class II is the most frequent malocclusion in Orthodontics, and may occur due to maxillary prognathism, mandibular deficiency or a combination of both, and in most cases mandibular deficiency stands out. Correction of skeletal problems is one of the ways to treat this condition and, for that, we can find devices that act as mandibular propulsion. This article, through a literature review, aims to describe the history, indications, manufacture, installation and use of the mandibular propulsion appliance, in order to correct dental Class II in the permanent dentition.
